Matt Pruitt and Chick-fil-A open on Summer with a success model of staffing for the Food Industry and others

Chick-fil-A opens on Summer with 130 plus employees and service is amazing.  How did they do it?

The ambassadors for the Greater Memphis Chamber were on hand.  Grizz, Grizz Girls, the Memphis Tiger, and Rockey the Rockin' Redbird were all there for the ribbon cutting of the new Chick-fil-A at 4649 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122.  Matt Pruitt is the young owner of the newest Chick-fil-A in the city and he was the man of the hour.  Reporters, corporate people, partners, and family were all on hand and they all wanted time with Matt on this big day.  But what is the excitement about?  Isn't Chick-fil-A just another fast-food restaurant opening?

Something very different is happening here . . .

At a time when almost every business in town is looking for employees, Chick-fil-A seemed to have no shortage of them.  Not only were there plenty of employees, but they are also happy and very helpful.  There were no customers upset about their orders not being right.  The manager was walking around greeting guests and checking on them.  How is this possible?

Matt calls it Positive Turnover

It turns out Chick-fil-A is following a business model that focuses on so much more than paying people a decent wage.  This is a company that is focused on making every meal served an amazing experience.  They can do this because they invest in their people.  Insurance, a respectable workspace, regular wage increases based on performance, scholarship opportunities, and more.  Here is a company that treats people the way they want to be treated and the result is amazing service for their clients.

During my interview with Matt, he explained that he focuses on positive turnover.  This guy expects turnover, he even looks forward to it.  Why?  Because his goal is to help his team members build a better life.  A life of reaching higher goals, a life of doing more for their families, and their communities.  So every time you eat lunch or dinner at a Chick-fil-A, you are helping a local business owner invest in his team and his community.  What a concept!

Let's  #BeAmazing Together

Matt ended his interview with the #JustMy statement, Let's #BeAmazing Together.  This is truly what is happening at the Summer Chick-fil-A.  But it is also happening all around Memphis.  If you are a business owner, make sure you have joined the Greater Memphis Chamber.  Together as a City we can help each other thrive!  Let's Do This!
